Vic

Vic has been in the Heating and Air Conditioning business in Albuquerque for a long time. Vic started out as a helper with several heating and air-conditioning companies. Soon, Vic realized this trade could develop into a career and geared up for it by obtaining his Journey Man Gas and Sheet Metal Cards. He added a MM 3 License when he went into business for himself.

Prior to staring VICA in 1989, Vic was an estimator with Briggers and Paxton for a time. Here, he learned more about plan reading, codes, bidding, and job costing. Using this knowledge, he over saw the HVAC department for several plumbing and heating companies in the Albuquerque area. With the support of his family, he formed VICA Heating and Air Conditioning in 1989.

Vic, on the personal side enjoys time with his wife Hope, three grand children and two great grand children. He now has time to work in movies and on his VW Karmann Ghia project car.

Vic is pleased to watch and oversee VICA Heating and Air Conditioning LLC’s growth and provide for his employees and their families. He wants VICA to remain professional and maintain its reputation as the highest quality HVAC Company in New Mexico. Above all, Vic is “old school,” this means that he wants the work done to the absolute highest standards while maintaining work schedules that are in keeping with the project constraints.

John

While attending the University of New Mexico Mechanical Engineering program, John cut his teeth in the HVAC field. He worked at Miller-Picking Corporation, a high-end manufacturer of heating and air-conditioning equipment. Starting in the drafting department, John eventually worked in the engineering and sales engineering areas. This experience, coupled with his schooling, started him on the path to understanding the technical side of the industry. Following a short career as a marketing consultant,

John joined VICA Heating & A/C. He quickly learned the field side of the industry while working as an installer and service technician. This helped him to develop a vast knowledge of system design and equipment operation. Moving forward, John started to manage projects, beginning with ultra-custom home HVAC systems and advancing through commercial HVAC systems. John now manages many of the larger, more technically advanced projects that VICA undertakes. These have recently included several large commercial air-conditioning jobs with General Electric and the University of New Mexico Hospital, among others.

John still manages many of the high-end home projects for VICA where the highest standards of quality must be assured. John is a firm believer that education never ends. To that end, he attends technical training classes to keep abreast of the newest technologies and trends in the industry. This continued technical knowledge and education allows VICA to tackle projects that other companies do not have the ability to attempt.

Andrew

Andrew Hofheins has over 20 years of varied work experience in the HVAC industry, giving him a unique perspective of the market. He began his career installing heating and cooling systems in Albuquerque homes from which he learned the basics of the business including duct design and air flow requirements. Today, Andrew manages the Residential and Commercial Division of VICA.

This involves design and layout air flow systems, performing heat load calculations, and matching products to maximize specification requirements. He then negotiates with suppliers to purchase products at competitive prices and subsequently prepares bids for builders, general contractors, and homeowners for both large and small projects. Once the project is awarded, he then oversees the job, start to finish, ensuring quality control, coordination with suppliers and other trades and agencies, budget control and timely completion. This bid-to-finish process is designed to eliminate discrepancies and errors, improve cost control, and streamline the communication process with all parties.

Having worked for a wholesale distributor of HVAC equipment and supplies, Andrew worked his way up to a management position, where he took classes in personnel management, purchasing, negotiation, business management and supervision. He also attended Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute in the field of Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning, and earning EPA certifications. Andrew’s experience, together with his astute attention to detail, assures that every project will not only meet, but will exceed the highest standards that VICA has come to expect.
